Golomt Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. A.Odonbaatar as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 24th July, 2024. Mr. Odonbaatar brings a wealth of experience, strategic vision, and proven leadership to this pivotal role.
Mr. Odonbaatar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking Management from National University of Mongolia and an MBA in Finance and Marketing Management from Bangalore University, India. He has continuously pursued professional development through programs like the IFC IA Masters program in Thailand, Harvard Management Mentor program, and PWC Academy.
Renowned for his professionalism, innovative thinking, Mr.Odonbaatar has been an integral part of Golomt Bank’s success for the past 15 years. His distinguished career at the bank consists of key roles in various departments.
Under his guidance, Golomt Bank’s Internal Audit Function achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the first in Mongolia to attain “full conformance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing” assessment through quality assurance review done by one of the leading professional services networks in the world. Mr.Odonbaatar initiated the establishment of Data Analysis function under the Chief Audit Executive paving the way to reaching “predictive analytics” level to further advance audit operations.
As Branch Director, Mr. Odonbaatar founded and managed one of the most strategically prominent branches in the capital city, leading the branch to immediate success, achieving “Best Branch” status within a short timeframe based on key performance indicators.
A strategic thinker with ability to drive growth and profitability, Mr. Odonbaatar has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to excellence. As Deputy Chief Executive Officer overseeing all business lines of the Bank, he spearheaded the successful completion of the first-ever standalone benchmark size bond issuance of a Mongolian commercial bank in the international market.
Mr. Odonbaatar’s dedication to professional development is exemplified by his active involvement in industry associations. He has held leadership positions in the Institute of Internal Auditors Mongolia Chapter, the Mongolian Banking Association, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Mongolia chapter. His contributions to elevating the internal audit profession in Mongolia have been instrumental in setting new industry standards.
Recognized for his outstanding achievements, Mr. Odonbaatar has been honored with multiple awards both internally within the banking system as well as with State level external awards.
